We will be helping to ensure that projects involve charities and groups, and that the voices of women themselves are heard in how the centre is run and the activities it undertakes.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.24.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3>About WHRW<\/h3>\n<p>WHRW forms part of the Welsh Government\u2019s commitment to women\u2019s health, something which FTWW has helped to secure through our patient advocacy and work with other organisations in the third sector Women\u2019s Health Wales Coalition.<\/p>\n<p>The 10-year NHS Wales Women\u2019s Health Plan, published at the end of 2024, highlights the importance of research in helping to address a widespread lack of understanding of health issues which uniquely, disproportionately, or differently affect women, girls, and people registered female at birth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHRW aims to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop research projects which look at health-related issues across women\u2019s lives and their wider impacts to improve experiences and wellbeing<\/li>\n<li>Develop partnerships between academics and industry to help create treatments and tools which work better for women<\/li>\n<li>Work collaboratively with third sector, NHS, and policy-makers, so that research projects reflect women\u2019s needs and can be implemented in practice<\/li>\n<li>Help health and social care providers better understand and consider sex and gender in the services they develop<\/li>\n<li>Ensure more people better understand women\u2019s health and how to research it<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>WHRW\u2019s research will focus on four themes or areas:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><\/span>How health can be maintained and improved at different stages of life<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><\/span>Early onset and life-long conditions<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><\/span>Stigmatised and rare conditions<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><\/span>Under-served women\u2019s groups and how they can be disadvantaged when it comes to the development and treatment of diseases and access to healthcare<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To find out more, visit the <a href=\"whrw.uk%20\" title=\"WHRW Centre website\">WHRW website<\/a> where you\u2019ll also be able to find opportunities to get involved in its various projects and activities.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243;
