The first week of December 2017 has been a very exciting one for FTWW<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and endometriosis<\/strong><\/span><\/a> patients across Wales.<\/p>\n

Thanks to our on-going work with Welsh Government<\/strong><\/span><\/a> to improve strategy, our involvement in the new NICE guidelines<\/strong><\/span><\/a> for the condition, published in September, and the creative efforts of one of our members, Jaimee McCormack<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, creator of the Cardiff EndoWall<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, daily news programmes BBC Wales Today and Newyddion 9 on S4C, decided to make endometriosis their featured item on Wednesday 6th December and we were pleased to be asked to contribute!<\/p>\n

Our CEO, featured in the BBC’s evening bulletins, was invited to give some insight into the experiences of its many hundreds of members, as well as explain how our report, ‘<\/strong>Making the Case for Better Endometriosis Treatment in Wales’<\/strong><\/span><\/a> has proved to be a significant turning point in improving the recognition, diagnosis, and treatment of this debilitating condition. Another of our members, Gwenllian Williams was able to provide Welsh language channel, S4C, with a moving account of her experiences and did a sterling job to camera in an extended interview.<\/p>\n

The Task & Finish Group for Endometriosis<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, set up by Welsh Government on the back of our lobbying, and in which we are playing an instrumental part, looks to submit its recommendations during early 2018 so watch this space!<\/p>\n
