Providing information

Thanks to the Waterloo Foundation, FTWW continues to be able to ensure ongoing engagement with our members and volunteers, including via our monthly bi-lingual newsletter and online community group. This funding will also help us recruit, support, and equip more of our volunteers to represent the charity and advocate for themselves and others in a range of health-related spaces.

Advocacy and support

Thank you for co-hosting such an informative webinar (on getting the most out of your medical appointments). I came away feeling less alone with my health battle, and empowered to continue fighting for the healthcare all women deserve in Wales.

– FTWW member

At this point I honestly believe that FTWW is probably one of the most inclusive charity organisations that I have come across. It offers a wide range of opportunities to a wide range of women. I have found the opportunities afforded me to have both helped me come to terms with my ‘new self’ whilst contributing to a cause that has a far wider and important remit than just the self. FTWW actively encourages its members to use their voice and this enables authentic co-production across many areas of women’s health.

Working with us

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion in Research

We’ve developed a strong and meaningful partnership with the team from Fair Treatment for the Women of Wales (FTWW). Their support with public Involvement in Health and Care Research Wales has been incredibly insightful, and instrumental in helping us shape our approach. Working closely with FTWW has had a significant impact on our work, enabling us to better understand and address the needs of under-served groups. Through this partnership, we’ve been able to explore new and innovative ways of involving a broader and more diverse range of people in the research we fund, ensuring their voices are heard.

– Peter Gee, Senior Public Involvement Manager, Health & Care Research Wales

Supporting External Events

As an Occupational Therapist with the council, I recently delivered a presentation on my personal experience with endometriosis and adenomyosis to raise awareness and support early diagnosis. I was kindly joined by Rachel from FTWW, whose insight and professionalism added real value. She shared key resources like the Endometriosis Cymru website, the symptom reporting tool, and highlighted the importance of Wales’ 10-Year Women’s Health Plan. Her input encouraged others to talk and have open discussions among colleagues and to share their own experiences. Since then, I’ve joined a menopause support group and remain in regular contact with FTWW to explore further ways of supporting staff through awareness and networks. Their involvement was invaluable and made the session both impactful and highly relevant to our workplace.

Supporting External Events

A huge thank you for your amazing contributions to the Women’s Health Conference at the Pavillion in Rhyl, to highlight the Women’s Health Plan for Wales here in North Wales, celebrate International Women’s Day, and raise awareness of Endometriosis Month. We were very fortunate to have you join us on the day…The feedback we are receiving is amazing – your time and input is very much appreciated by us all; especially the delegates who were singing your praises.

Supporting External Events

We were delighted to have FTWW present to our women’s health in the workplace event at Cardiff University. They provided incredible insight into the realities of living with long term health conditions and the impact this can have on women within the workplace and what FTWW is doing to work with women and Welsh Government to address issues. FTWW’s representatives facilitated a roundtable discussion, generating lots of conversation. Thank you for supporting our event.

Well done for all your hard work. The difference in the Welsh and English Women’s Health Plan is eye-watering and down to the clear engagement you have really pushed for from patient groups. Thank you for all you have done.
