We would like to invite you to attend one of our drop-in stakeholder sessions to discuss the Women’s Health Hubs project within BCUHB.
The women’s health hubs project is a part of the Women’s Health Plan, which can be accessed here.
The project involves establishing a ‘pathfinder’ women’s health hub within each Health Board by March 2026.

Draft Disabled People’s Rights Plan – Consultation Open
The consultation on Welsh Government’s upcoming Draft Disabled People’s Rights plan is now open. The plan, based on the work of the Disability Rights Taskforce (of which FTWW is a member organisation), sets out a 10-year ambition and the long-term outcomes the Welsh Government is working towards to ensure disabled people can flourish as equal members of Welsh society, and to challenge discrimination and prejudice.
FTWW Hosts ‘NICE in Wales’
This month, we were pleased to host a webinar with colleagues from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, where our members learned about the role of NICE in supporting healthcare professionals to deliver optimum care for patients.

Our Chair, Willow, was thanked for her involvement in the work of the Welsh Government’s Disability Rights Taskforce, for sharing her lived experience and ambition to address inequalities, as the first stages of research into the development of a National Centre for Independent Living was published.
Are you taking HRT and still experiencing menopause symptoms?
We are conducting a project to develop a measure of the costs related to having menopausal symptoms for use in the ESTEEM trial which is looking at the use of testosterone when added to hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
Everywoman Festival
We were thrilled to be invited to take to the main stage at this year’s Everywoman Festival, with Engagement Officer, Dee, a panellist alongside NHS Wales Women’s Health Clinical Lead, Dr Helen Munro, and Director of the new Wales Women’s Health Research Centre, Professor Jacky Boivin, and Chaired by the Chief Nursing Officer, Sue Tranka.
GPs to be trained to recognise symptoms of endometriosis earlier
Addressing diagnostic delays for endometriosis and improving awareness amongst healthcare professionals remains a core objective for us, so we were delighted to coproduce the training offered to GPs – as reported here by ITV Cymru Wales.
