The experiences of living with various long-term health issues in Wales, described by women and people registered female at birth, using their own words and artwork.

During May and June 2025, we hosted two workshops where participants created visual images and narrative to convey the impact of their various health issues and share their experiences with each other.

Alongside the words and pictures created, researchers at Cardiff University have helped to identify the common themes expressed and we are delighted now to share the results. Our DrawingOut Long-Term Health Issues in Wales report and booklet can be viewed here:

Experiences of Living with Long-term Health Issues in Wales

This booklet has been developed as part of the DrawingOut Long-Term Health Issues in Wales project.

The report and booklet are being shared with policymakers and healthcare providers to raise awareness of some of the challenges – and solutions – shared by women and people registered female at birth living with long-term health issues in Wales. We look forward to seeing them making a positive difference to people’s experiences and lives.
