Information and resources

We ensure the people we support have access to information so that they can understand their condition better and know what services they need. We also collate our members and beneficiaries’ experiences and priorities in reports.

We are uniquely positioned as a patient-led disabled people’s organisation (DPO) based in Wales. This means that our members have real-life experience of accessing healthcare from within Wales, including the barriers and issues that can be encountered as patients navigating what can be very complicated systems. It is these unique perspectives that FTWW seeks to impart in its patient-led reports, consultation responses, and the information we share with decision-makers and the public.

As well as collating our members and beneficiaries’ experiences and priorities in reports, we also try to provide leaflets and myth-busters on the issues affecting them, both to raise awareness and to combat some of the misconceptions surrounding those issues. We also support members to challenge unfair treatment by signposting them to specialist sources of advice, information, and assistance, and by creating template letters for them to use in correspondence with Senedd Members.

Empowerment

Through peer support we empower our members to gain confidence and be better equipped to manage and navigate their healthcare.

Advocacy

We bring policy makers and service providers together with experts by experience, to ensure female voices are heard and can influence positive change in health and public service design and delivery.
