Today marks the start of Baby Loss Awareness Week.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to all the AMs who took part in the Pregnancy and Baby Loss debate in The Senedd, last Wednesday. Also to Lynne Neagle, Adam Price, and David Rees AMs, for putting the topic forward for debate.

Special thanks to Lynne Neagle, and Caroline Jones AMs for raising the issues that exist with miscarriage care in Wales, and to all the AMs who referenced the problems raised in our report. Caroline Jones urged Health Minister Vaughan Gething to support the recommendations made in our report in his response to the debate.

One of the main issues covered was psychological support, and how poor care can add to the distress suffered. We look forward to the Health Secretary’s update on how proper and consistent psychological support will be provided for all parents who suffer from baby loss.
