Lara and Miss Helen Bayliss
We’ve had a great month of attending a wide range of events including Cardiff and Vale University Health Board’s Sexual and Reproductive Health and Community event, the Senedd Cross-Party Group on Women’s Health, Betsi Cadwaladr’s Women’s Health Stakeholder Event for health board staff, and The WOMB Summer Festival in Cardiff.
Lara, one of FTWW’s Volunteer Menopause Champions, attended Cardiff and Vale University Health Board’s Sexual and Reproductive Health and Community event at Sophia Gardens on 9th July, where she was able to share information about FTWW and the support we offer to attendees with an interest in menstrual health and wellbeing.
Diolch, Lara!
Also on 9th July, we attended the Senedd Cross-Party Group on Women’s Health, where the discussion focused on barriers and enablers of breastfeeding in Wales.
On 10th July, Isabel and Debbie delivered a presentation on the ‘Whys and Hows to Coproduction in Women’s Health’ to healthcare professionals across North Wales, and were joined by FTWW Volunteer Menstrual Wellbeing Champion, Anna, who shared her lived experience. This is part of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board’s work on delivering a Women’s Health Hub for patients in the region and is an expectation for all health boards as they start implementing the 10-year NHS Wales Women’s Health Plan.

Finally, our Engagement Officer, Dee, was joined by FTWW Volunteers Donna, Harriet, Carina, Molly, and Rachel at the 2025 WOMB Summer Festival, held in Grangetown, Cardiff, on 26 July. It was a fantastic event celebrating all things menstruation, birth, menopause, and everything in between. Dee spoke on the ‘Community is the Missing Medicine: How the third sector is filling the gaps left behind’ panel, alongside Kyla Scott of Lighter Brighter Minds, Alamayah Willow of BAWSO, and Shannon Davies of Mothers Matter.
Our sincere thanks to everyone who invited us to attend these events, and to our fantastic volunteers for their ongoing support and advocacy. If you’d like to invite us to attend a future event, please do get in touch.
